What are the battery certifications for polymer lithium batteries for foreign trade?

2021-01-31
International standards and certification: CB system (IEC62133 standard) international certification standard IEC62133 for battery (Battery Pack) and battery cell (Battery Cell) introduction time: and the certification standard UL1642 commonly used by the former battery cell factory, with the International Electrotechnical Association The IECEE resolution ACAG/1398/DSH resolution will gradually start the introduction of I-C62133, and will no longer directly accept UL1642 test results. In other words, in the foreseeable future, European certification units, such as TUV, VDE, Semko, Nemko, Fimko, Demko, etc., will follow the introduction of IEC62133 and adopt the same certification strategy.

Battery Certification UN38.3 International Standard Inspection Certificate for Automobile Industry Battery Quality and Environmental Management System Certification

The following is the introduction itinerary for battery certification.

Before May 1, 2011: The test report of UL1642 can be fully received without additional evaluation.

From May 1, 2011 to May 1, 2012: Partial acceptance of UL1642 test reports, the difference between IEC62133 and UL1642 needs to be evaluated.

After May 1, 2012: Only battery cells that comply with IEC62133 are accepted

1. CQC certification GB/T18287 for the Chinese market

2. Battery certification for the US market

UL certification: UL1642 for batteries, UL2054 for battery packs

Safety requirements for lithium battery transportation (UN38.3 and 1.2 meter drop test) battery-related environmental regulations (US Battery Directive) mainly test the content of lead and mercury.

3. EU market battery certification

Battery Directive: 2006/66/ECPb: 40PPM, Cd: 20PPM, Hg: 5PPM. WEEE Directive Scraped Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive ROHS REACH Regulation REACH is the EU regulation "Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals" June 2007 The safety requirements during transportation of the chemical supervision system EMC test (with CE mark) implemented on the 1st are UN38.3EN 62281.

4. Battery certification for the Japanese market

PSE certification standards JIS8712 and J8714; implementation date: November 20, 2008

5. Battery certification UN38.3, a must-do for foreign trade

To ensure the safety of air transportation, and to meet the customers' needs for the transportation of goods containing lithium batteries. According to the relevant regulations of the International Air Transport Association "Dangerous Goods Regulations", the operating specifications for rechargeable IATA lithium batteries, namely UN38.3 (UNDOT) testing, have been formulated.

According to the requirements of civil aviation regulations, airlines and airport cargo collection and transportation departments should review the transportation documents of lithium batteries. The most important thing is the UN38.3 safety test report for each type of lithium battery. The report can be provided by a third-party testing agency designated by civil aviation, or by a battery manufacturer with testing capabilities. If this test report cannot be provided, civil aviation will prohibit air transportation of lithium batteries.

UN38.3 refers to paragraph 38.3 of Part 3 of the "United Nations Dangerous Goods Transport Test and Standard Manual" specially formulated by the United Nations for the transportation of dangerous goods. It requires that lithium batteries must pass high simulation, high and low temperature cycles, and vibration tests before transportation. , Impact test, 55℃ external short circuit, extrusion or impact test, overcharge test, forced discharge test, can ensure the safety of lithium battery transportation. If the lithium battery is not installed together with the equipment, it must pass the 1.2-meter free drop test.

UN38.3 applicable product range:

1. Various power lithium secondary batteries (such as batteries for power vehicles, batteries for electric road vehicles, batteries for electric tools, batteries for hybrid vehicles, etc.)

2. Various mobile phone batteries (such as lithium ion batteries, lithium polymer batteries, etc.)

3. Various small secondary batteries (such as laptop batteries, digital camera batteries, camcorder batteries, various cylindrical batteries, wireless communication batteries, portable DVD batteries, CD and MP3 player batteries, etc.)

4. Various primary batteries (such as lithium manganese batteries, etc.)

6. The scope of application of CE/CB, EN/IEC 62133 standards
This standard specifies the requirements and tests for the safety performance of portable sealed secondary battery cells and batteries (groups) (different from button-type batteries) containing alkaline or non-acid electrolytes in the intended use and foreseeable abuse method.
